Shape reconfiguration is ubiquitous in biological systems and a key parameter in developing “intelligent” drug carrier capable of various function-oriented adaptations. In current researches of drug carrier, only a few examples of shape adaptability can be found, though shape adaptation of drug carrier offers unique opportunities in controlling interactions with cells, transport across bio-barriers and recognition functions.
